It's a Friday Thursday

I'm excited -- I've got a three day weekend that starts around 4pm today. Woohoo!

Hey, I told you the little things make me happy, so get on board!

We're taking the kids up my parent's place in the country. They live on a nice piece of property that is at the dead end of a road (which means no through traffic) and has a creek (which during the late winter is a rushing river). It's very peaceful up there, with lots of space for kids and dogs to run around in.

This particular weekend is a favorite -- it's the annual Berry Picking/Jam Making/River Picnic weekend that we do every August. By the time I come home, I'll have a sunburn and purple fingers. And to make it even better, my favorite sister-in-law and niece will be in town from Oregon, and we're meeting for breakfast one morning at a favorite place we all enjoy. Good times, good times.

(This is the actual bridge we swim and picnic under. It's only about half an hour from my parent's place.)

I'll be sure to actually bring my camera this time, and while I don't think I can blog from the 'rent's dial up, I may give it a shot. (Yes, I said dial up. They live where they can't get DSL. Sad, but true.)

Happy Friday to me!
