So Much to be Thankful For!

We had a really nice couple of days this last weekend. And I really chalk a lot of it up to the fact that my husband has come back to me. No, he may not have left physically, but he wasn’t the same man emotionally, mentally or spiritually these last few years. The guy I was sharing a house with was pretty down on himself for not working full time outside of the home, and between you and me, I didn’t much like that guy.

With his new job on the horizon, depression has made its way out the door, the grumpiness has hit an all time low, and the smiling man that I fell in love with has returned. It’s all coming back to me, and I couldn’t be more thankful.

To celebrate with some family time we took the kids to a nearby theme park for the day.

As if that weren’t enough, we were invited back to horseback ride again on Sunday morning, making this a nearly perfect weekend for me. First I walked the kids around the arena, giving Charlie a thrill when he experience trotting for the first time. Then I got a turn and got to take Bessie out again for a bit. This time she stopped sassing me after a few tries and took direction really well. It felt great to be more in sync with her, and it didn’t hurt that I had better boots on to keep my ankles safe this time! Not an additional bruise in sight!

They’ve invited us to take a trip to the beach with them next Sunday, and I couldn’t be more excited. Here it's only Tuesday and I’m supposed to somehow make it through the week AND be productive, waiting for the weekend.

Anyone out there have a time machine??

But seriously…I am overwhelmed by the hope and the joy that has come into our lives these last weeks, which is something I was beginning to wonder if we would ever have again. If you’ve ever felt truly hopeless in a major life situation, you know what I’m talking about. Gratitude – it is such a gift!
