Politics -- I'm in

I've tried to avoid getting political because I know it can be a turn off for readers on the opposing side, and frankly, I like keeping my blog light and more personal. What's changing my mind is that this election feels personal to me. The more reading and researching I do, the more afraid I am of Barack Obama and his political associations. With no thanks to the media, none of what I'm finding appears to be out there in the every day news, and I'm sick to death of hearing about the least important things on earth, such as the money spent on Palin's wardrobe. If you really care about that, don't even talk to me about it until you've also got numbers for what was spent on Hillary when she was the first lady or when she was running, not to mention each and every man who's run. Somehow I think you'll have trouble finding it.

Today I'm focusing on the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae situation. The Democrats have spent a great deal of time and energy pointing their fingers at the Republicans and the President for the situation we're in. The video below gives you a better idea of where we should be pointing fingers. You might also go further and look into the facts that Obama has been paid the 2nd highest amount in payoffs there are from Fannie Mae, and was right there with Franklin Raines pushing to get home loans for lower income families that couldn't afford it. He is not blameless, and I have no doubt he's only going to make things worse if he wins.

Watch the video or don't -- but please take some time to really look at the facts that matter before you cast your vote.

Amen. The media is so biased all we're left with is Fox News to bring some of this stuff to light. Look at the Community Reinvestment Act that started this whole housing mess. People are picking their candidate for so many wrong reasons. A reporter went to Harlem to ask people about why they're voting Obama. he asked "Do you think his choice of Sarah Palin for Vice President is a good one?" and people said "yes, I do." UGH I could go on and on and I know I'm in the minority but Merrie is right that the people of this country aren't being given all the facts because the media is so liberally-biased.

Still love you guys, my Obama-supporter buds. Just sayin'.

I heard that same reporter! He also asked them which of Obama's policies they supported more -- his being against stem cell research, or keeping the troops in Iraq, and ALL of them chose one or both without getting the point. People need to know who they're voting for, and so many do NOT.

I agree that the media is ridiculously LEFT. You cant believe half of what's reported anymore.

And I had to smile when you mentioned the "great clothing scandal"! We've said the same things around here! I'm sure Obama wears all his suits straight from Kmart and Hilary shops at Target for all her pantsuits. Gag me. The media is insane when they decide that kind of thing "news" :P

Oh gee, I sure wont vote for McCain now (even if he happened to be the best candidate) because the republicans spent money on Sarah Palin's wardrobe! Puh-Leeze!

I agree 110% with you and would like to say "Thank you" for putting it out there. I am amazed by some of the arguments I hear for why someone is voting for Obama. I am sick, sick, sick of the liberal biased media we have and wish people could see through all the smoke & mirrors.

The other thing that really gets my blood boiling is the Hollywood set thinking we really care about their opinions on politics (Madonna, Lindsey Lohan, etc). Like I would ever consider anything that comes out of THEIR mouths.

Merrie, I agree with you too, But I do also have to say Fox isn't my favorite place to get news either. I wish there was a happy medium. I do have to say I trust my God and he will use whoever is in the white house, for the good. If you saw the 20/20 special ( I posted about it on friday)it will make you sad to see how little it matters who the pres.is. BTW I love your new profile photo, very cute!

Hey- thanks for stopping by my blog. I've been browsing around here and like it.

I am with you on current politics. I wish the news would go to these people and ask them about these statements and what they think about it now.

The news never ever tells the whole story. The sad part is the general public believes it is the whole story

Whew! What a breath of fresh air your post is in this political merry-go-round lately. Nice to read your post and the comments here. I am so not a politics person but I do have my opinions about all of it. Just for this post alone (ok, and that you went to the Amy Grant concert--we're going tonight, woohoo!) I'll be following you post haste on mine.
