Just knowing that I have two days ahead of me that could be filled with ANYthing
Yesterday I once again volunteered for a day of work in the bay area wetlands with my co-workers. We joined up with an organization that’s all about saving them, and spent four hours pulling obnoxious non-native plants out of large radius around the water. It felt wonderful being out in the sunshine and working hard, even if I did forget to give any thought to sun block, and why it’s my friend. I’ll take an afternoon like that over any other day in front of a computer!
A lot of this weekend will be spent getting ready for my night to host Bunco. I created a theme of “Coffeehouse,” which to me says laid back and cozy with comfort foods. I’ll have fun creating the menu this weekend, including desserts that I hope will hit the spot. I’m perhaps not as clever as some of my friends – one did “Alice in Wonderland,” and really outdid herself creating a Mad Tea Party!! – but at least I’m participating, which we’ve told Charlie is the most important thing!
I’ll finish up this post with a shout out to my Memorial Day weekend camping trip. We had a great time, even if the kids did outnumber the adults 2-1! Somehow we kept all ten of them alive and fed, as you’ll see below.
