My Fall Favorites

Inspired today by Mama Kat's Writers Workshop, I'm sharing with you my fall favorites!

To begin, I am overjoyed that the fall drink of Starbucks has returned.

HOWEVER!

The truth is I actually hate the pumpkin spice latte. HATE IT. Pumpkin flavored anything (except for pumpkin pie) does not go over well with me. Keep your pumpkin cake and pumpkin cookies to yourself!

Thanks to a former co-worker, I know the secret to how this drink can be saved. Are you ready? You simply ask for half pumpkin spice and half toffee nut. It's deLICious! It completely captures the flavor of fall without the pumpkin overkill. It's perfect! Please promise me you'll try one next time you hit Starbucks. PROMISE!

Fall is also my favorite time for my favorite scenario.

A fire in the fireplace...an old movie on the television...a glass of red wine and a game of Scrabble with my husband. Scrabble can also be replaced with a big puzzle, which we both love. We have spent many a fall or winter afternoon or evening like this over the years, and I'm looking forward to it again very soon!

We don't get a lot of fall colors in the bay area -- we go back and forth between green and brown all year. But we do get the crisp smell of fall, especially after the rain on a cool morning. I'm looking forward to that.

Lastly, you can't beat a comfy sweater on a cold day. Mine are ready and waiting in my closet, looking forward to some quality time with me soon.

What's your fall favorite?

Oooh I'll have to try that half toffee nut...if I don't forget. But you're right, full pumpkin spice can be a little much! And I LIKE pumpkin!!

The sound of crunchy leaves and the crisp air.

last year I tried a pumpkin cuppacino. This year they have an apple cobbler. I was wondering if I mixed the french vanilla and the apple cobbler, would it take like apple pie a la mode?

Ill have to try it

Oh, pumpkin spice latte...how I love thee. I think you recommended the toffee nut syrup to me last year. I can't remember if I tried it...so I will do it soon!
